The 2nd Asian Ornithological Conference will be held from November 14 to 17, 2024, at the National Convention Center in Beijing. This conference is supported and promoted by the International Ornithological Union (IOU). The chief organizer is the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with co-organizers including the College of Life Sciences, Northeast Normal University, and the College of Life Sciences, Shaanxi Normal University, Anhui University. The conference is also supported by the School of Ecology and Nature Conservation, Beijing Forestry University, International Society of Zoological Sciences, the Crested Ibis National Nature Reserve Research Center, China Ornithological Society, the journal Avian Research, Beijing Normal University, the Key Laboratory of Biodiversity, Fudan University, Hebei Normal University, Hainan Normal University, Southwest Forestry University, Sichuan Normal University, and Northeast Forestry University. The conference chairman is Professor Sun Yuehua from the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. 

As an international event for the Asian ornithology, the conference aim to provide researchers with a platform to present and exchange their research findings on global stage. We welcome scientists and researchers from universities and research institutes across Asia, even worldwide, working in ornithology and related fields, to submit their high-quality research and participate in this prestigious academic event of Asian ornithology.

The venue: China National Convention Center, Beijing, China. 

Fees and Inclusions: During the conference, each participant is responsible for their own accommodation costs. The registration fee payment methods can be found on the official website of the 2nd Asian Ornithological Conference (AOC 2024 (casconf.cn)). Registration is divided into early registration, regular registration, and on-site registration, based on the date of payment.  

Conference Funding Details:  The conference will provide funding support to representatives from third-world countries, with three levels: full funding (airfare + accommodation + registration fee), moderate funding (airfare + accommodation), and travel funding (airfare). Funding slots are limited, and participants can apply by submitting a application to the organizing committee or being recommended by the committee, followed by a review process. 

To promote the development of ornithological research in Asia, three diamond sponsors from China (Hunan Global Messenger, Beijing Prestar Technology + Sichuan Druid Technology, and Shenzhen Uovision) have set up research grant programs. These grants support research on bird migration, field individual monitoring, and field bird diversity monitoring. Applicants should submit the applications with a brief research plan to the conference email. Specific funding slots will be determined by the conference organizing committee and the sponsors. Devices will be provided according to the researcher's needs. The winners should acknowledge the AOC and the respective sponsors in the presentation of results and reports in the future. 

• Hunan Global Messenger: Plans to fund 10-15 sets of bird satellite tracking devices, with 3 devices per set. 
• Beijing Prestar Technology + Sichuan Druid Technology: Plans to fund 10 sets of bird satellite tracking devices, with 2 devices per set. 
• Shenzhen Uovision: Plans to fund 10-15 sets of newly developed acoustic monitoring devices, with 2 devices per set.
